- snowing inside the union st R station, snow plow on the tracks, my horn gets tangled up in the snow, keys and screws fall off, i gather up the parts just as the train is pulling into the station.
- riding the subway w michael, we get split up, i end up in a weird empty station (in LA??) that i can't find my way out of, i finally do, then i get my iphone out and try to use the maps with no success, then i try to call the #s i have for michael, can't figure out which one is the right one, iphone is impossible to enter #s (buttons are falling off??), i try over and over to get it right and can't do it, sitting on the grass trying again and again.
- in salt lake city? driving ratdog tour bus from hotel to gig by myself, after going through a big tollbooth the brakes fail and i lose control of the bus for a minute crahing into and injuring some people before i regain control.
- first ratdog gig in forever, outside in a field, come back after sound check? someone has moved my horn and the top half has broken clean off, elaborate and involved job trying to repair it, it is completely messed up, basically unplayable, gig starts and i am still on the side trying to fix it.
- coming home, there is stuff (furniture etc..) piled up on the street, i have trouble finding my house, when i finally do there are 2 guys bringing everything out, i go in - david & allison are face down on the ground, the 2 guys say they couldn't get $65k out of the atm so they are taking the stuff, david tells me to leave - that it's not my problem, i leave, i'm with diego & 3 other people, i suggest we get guns and go back, they try to dissuade me.
- at some strange fairgrounds place, ratdog folks there, smoked a bunch of weed, i was so mad and disappointed with myself that i smoked. martial arts people in martial arts gear, my asshole neighbor rory from when i lived in sf picked a fight with one of them and viciously punched him over and over - laughing and having fun.
- colin and i are at a caribbean restaurant and the service is really horrible and then we almost get into a fight with some people that work there.
- i can't find the backstage of the gig and when i finally do i open my soprano case and it's empty.
- i get my horn out at the gig and it's all messed up and won't play.
- super late for the gig and i just can't get there, can't find it, thwarted at every turn. horrifying.
- i'm playing the blue fin, only it's not the blue fin and some real terrible horn players come and just start playing and i just stop everything and lecture these cats about the etiquette of playing gigs. i say 'you wouldn't just jump onstage if it was miles davis?? what makes you think you can do that here???'
