  • CKG48 is the first SNH48 GROUP to have its' abbreviation be based on the romanization name of its' city-Chungking (romanization) instead of Chongqing (pinyin)

What is CKG48?

• CKG48 is a Chinese idol group and is SNH48's fourth sister group. The group has their own theater in Chongqing, China, where they are based. The concept of CKG48 is to have "idols you can meet", where the group features 100+ female members who perform daily in the group's own theater and interact with fans: handshake events (located in the city they were created--in this case in Chongqing, China), frequent Pocket48 lives, and more.

• Fans usually have one favorite member, which is called " oshi ", and then fans pay money to vote for their favorite members “ oshimen “ at general elections and senbatsus, which are held at least once a year. The higher a girl rank is, the more oppurtunities she has for promotions, songs, and more. It's basically a popularity contest.

• Due to the number of members in the group, the members are split up into teams that range between 15 or larger members. CKG48 teams rotate daily performing at the CKG48 theater. Each team has an appointed captain and co-captain (leaders). Each team has their own "stage", which is a set list of songs that they perform until a new stage is debuted.
• A group/team shuffle is where members are often forced to switch to different teams within CKG, unfortunately having to leave their group bonds behind and form new ones. It's emotional for the girls, but a tactic management chooses to do for promotional reasons. Some girls are also appointed as new captains of their team whether they've been shuffled into a new team, or remain in their old. It's rare for SNH48GROUP to have a team shuffle, and there has only been one shuffle–SNH48, February 2018.
