- The year that my Mom was made a Canon, we did "Marni Balls" off the dock at the cottage
- After hearing my Dad read parts of "The Patchwork Girl of Oz" to me, my cousins started to call my dad "Unc Nunkie Ralph"
- My parents read to me until I was 9
- My parents would drive me around in the car to help me get to sleep

- Auntie Jen spent her family day working on helping my Grandma pack up her stuff so she could move in with us
- Grandma and Aunt Janet are really close, which seems kind of random if you don't think about it much
- My Uncle Gordon calls our dog Theo "Theopolis".
- The way Aunty Jen says "Girlfriend!" and "You rock my world!"
- My Gammy Betty's deep love of tea
- The fact that my Gammy Betty and her husband (Hue) were the only ones who talked to a black family at their church for years (even before I Have A Dream and the repercussions thereof), and eventually became the Godparents of that family's child.
- The fact that I take after Grandpa Hue in such a huge way.
