hi! welcome to my fic recs (〃 ̄ω ̄〃ゞ

fics with a "⭑" are personal favorites! some fics will have reader notes, but not all! i might have to reread some of them too, just to get a refresher – like w all of iwaoi, i read all those like. a year ago tbh. nonetheless! enjoy my fic recs!

reminder: be sure to read tags before reading! some may contain sensitive and/or nsfw content.

sleeping didn't come as easy as it used to. bokuto knew this, and now akaashi did, too. the hospital au that no body asked for, but that i took upon myself to write.

i cried so many tears. angst. heavy angst. i typically don't read major character deaths, and this is the exact reason why – it hurt so much (hurt so good). reading this fic was a whole experience.. i've never had such heartbreak before. if you need a well written, devastating read... yeah <3

in which akaashi keiji is an overworked accountant who stumbles upon bokuto one night playing the piano in the lobby of his work. bokuto is different, that much is obvious. but with such supreme musical ta...

oikawa texts the wrong number when complaining about ushijima, and then keeps texting iwaizumi.

hajime is apparently something of a masochist, and as he stares down at the tie-dyed area51 t-shirt in his hands, he thinks “i’m totally in love with this asshole, aren't i?”

there's a tiny clock on his wrist, bright red numbers. it's supposed to tick, supposed to move, supposed to tell him when he'll meet his soulmate. the time will run to zero when they've met, moving numbers will become stationary—the ticking that signified uncertainty transforming to the silent stability of forever.

the roads are clear on the way back to osamu’s apartment. the springtime breeze that blows through the metropolis at night is cool against the skin peeking out from between his gloves and shirtsleeves. asphalt roads stretch before him, long and wide. sidewalks once teeming with patrons every night appear dull without the colorful array of streetwear breathing life into them. the city is a ghost of what it once was—a paler shade of the grey it’s always been. it’s alive, surviving, but it’s hollow.

it’s the tail-end of may, right on the brink of summer, but it’s cold, cold, cold.

the covid-verse was realy interesting. if anything, it made their interactions THAT much better. i really enjoyed reading this one :,)

in which sakusa kiyoomi is raised to believe that gay people go to hell but then takes one look at miya atsumu and thinks, then why the hell did god make them so fucking hot?

i cried. i really hurt over sakusa :( their struggles too... there’s something about sakusa's experience that is so universal and so awful and i almost hate that it impacted me the way it did. god this is so beautifully written. kudos to the supporting characters too btw, i'm really glad that the fic carried meaningful messages about love, family, and self-acceptance

it starts with hinata natsu, of all people.

well, if atsumu’s being honest with him...

soulmate /ˈsəʊlmeɪt/ • noun a person who was made from the same star as you.

// kuroken au where the last words your soulmate will say to you appear on your skin when you turn 16, and how kenma and kuroo learn what this means over the course of their lives

you wanna cry? another emotion enabler fic. this also hurt so bad. beautifully written and the characterization is precious. gentle interactions that made my heart break. another fic to add to the list oof reasons why i generally don't do major character death.

hinata is really cute and it’s freaking sakusa out.

kazuya tries to put together a future he can live with, and sawamura’s right there to make a mess of it.

this. this was an adventure For Sure. reading "crossfire" was an enticing experience. miyuki's characterization in this fic is so?? *chef's kiss* i think it's written wonderfully, and the rest of the story itself. there's meaning to everything – and ngl, i think about crossfire misawa now when it comes to the giants oops. left a long lasting impact on me. quotes hurt. <///3

eijun sawamura, eighteen years old, obsessed with music, and living away from home for the first time, spends his days on his college campus with his best friend, haruichi kominato. but after he meets kazu...

atsumu confesses to hinata on a dare and everything falls apart.

hear me out: miya atsumu realizing his emotions. one-sided fake dating has so much angst potential, and i was not disappointed with this one. hinata is so sweet in this :( and i enjoyed how the author snuck in how atsumu was good for hinata too. also atsumu's character arc!

“by the way, don't drink the milk today.” sakusa says in an ominous tone and then just washes his face without any further explanation. atsumu stares at him.

“uh, okay. why?”

“because i put vinegar in it.”

desperation. i don't have the patience for ongoing fics.

osamu believes that he had brought down one huge wall to get past the next and probably the biggest hurdle of them all: asking akaashi out for dinner.

keiji isn’t even certain that osamu miya recognizes him, though they’ve exchanged nods at his brick-and-mortar shop a handful of times before. they’re far from tokyo, keiji supposes, so there is no reason for miya to expect keiji in sendai; but they’re even farther from osaka, by hours and prefectures and hundreds of kilometers. there are certainly v.league matches being held this weekend that are far closer to kansai than the kamei arena sendai.
