★ = ones I really really liked
- Halifax Haunts by Steve Vernon
- The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne
- Mogworld by Yahtzee Croshaw ★
- Mort by Terry Pratchett
- Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane
- Criminal Minds: Killer Profile by Max Allan Collins
- Shutter Island (graphic novel) illustrated by Christian de Metter
- Creepers by David Morrell
- The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon ★
- Napoleon's Privates by Tony Perrottet ★
- Shit My Dad Says by Justin Halpern
- Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
- Switching Time by Richard Baer
- The Princess Bride by William Goldman
- Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Jane Austen/Seth Grahame Smith (Ehhh. I was kind of mentally removing the zombies sometiems because I've never read Pride and Prejudice, and I really disliked the characters.)
- Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett
- Fanny Hill by John Cleland (I should have been writing down all the hilarious euphemisms for genitals.)
- An Abundance of Katherines by John Green (I got really into vlogbrothers so I read this. It's just not my kind of book. I don't relate to teens very well.)
- The Cider House Rules by John Irving
- Stolen Innocence by Elissa Wall ★
- Haunted by James Herbert (Just an awesome ghost story. Perfect for October.)
- Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris ★ (Lots of neat facts about how Christianity correlates with the HDI type stats within the states and out)
- The Psychopath Test by Jon Ronson (Super interesting, but the author kind of loses focus in the middle so the ending is anticlimactic.)
- Good-bye Marianne by Irene N. Watts (Kid's graphic novel about a Jewish girl in Nazi Germany. Bit different from other books I've read on the same topic).
- Matilda by Roald Dahl
