• those emails you get from random banks, asking you to send them your bank details. I never get them from the banks I have accounts with, thankfully
  • when my brother had his identity used fraudulently by some people ordering things from very.co.uk, they had set up a credit account in his name and he was getting the charges
  • the 02 charges that people get on their bank statements, sometimes even non-02 customers get them
  • when the phone rings, you pick it up and there's an automated voicemail saying you've won a car or a holiday or something. Yeah right!
  • the "cash for gold" schemes, especially the ones where you post them back
  • several scams connected to selling something through Auto Trader
  • where companies invoice you for advertising in a fake magazine/publication. They cold call you to get inform you about a really great deal, record you saying the word "yes" (in any context) and then try to use that as a binding contract. Then they invoice you for something that has never existed that you have never agreed to.
