- Nannan Betty
- she had the most beautiful soft skin, especially on her neck
- she was constantly making cups of tea for people, hence my brother nicknaming her Betty Tea Bags when he was tiny
- her phone voice. She had a broad Yorkshire accent but when she answered the phone this posh voice came out of nowhere
- her almost psychadelic floral dresses made from that shiny silky fabric
- she was obsessed with knowing where her purse was at all times and either myself or my brother would have to carry it up to bed just before she retired for the night
- she used to call my brother a little jessie if he cried, which used to make me giggle because I thought it was a girls name
- when she put different voices on for different characters when reading to me
- the masses of Christmas presents we used to get. Those garnet stud earrings were my favourite, I felt very grown up!
- she did the best roast beef
- making bread and butter pudding for mum in under 5 minutes
- looking at her tapping her feet and hands to an oldies song on the radio
- her Daniel O'Donnell obsession
- when she used to do that funny thing with her false teeth, scary stuff!
- Grandpa Ron
- doing his hair with the nutcrackers
- him reading Noddy books with me for hours upon end
- his amazement at learning about E-Readers
- his hatred of Lily Savage, Loose Women & The Simpsons ("those yellow people")
- teaching him how to text and use his mobile phone on Christmas day
- the lobby where he kept all of his clock making supplies, with the cold stone floor
- going into the shed with him to watch him garden
- his laugh
- when he knocked a jar of sweetener into the sink and it all frothed up everywhere
- his tiny fragile hands
- he always knew how to fix something broken
- Minas Papa
- he was always warm when I hugged him
- his knitted jumpers
- when I saw him at the end of our street doing his exercises, I was mortified!
- Maggie Mama
- when she used to make me toast with honey for breakfast
- her perfume, smelt of mothballs but in a nice way
- her cuddles
