The Gingham house was the first time I had ever lived on my own. I found this room for rent on Craigslist for $370 a month and they knocked thirty bucks off the price. It was affordable and my boyfriend and I were really excited to live on our own. It turns out we had to walk on eggshells the whole time, the people we lived with were up to something, they never cleaned up after themselves, and we were stressed out a lot. It was our house during a very rough period of our lives but it never felt like home.
