I know that posts/lists like these come across as super edgy, but I do it in hopes of connecting, not to antagonize or seem superior. Just some clarification. (I might divide up this list in the future.)

  • General Opinions
    • I don't like milk in my cereal. I am apparently going to be burned at the stake for this.
    • Shock comedy isn't funny. Period. End of story.
      • Any humor that hurts, antagonizes, or makes light of horrific things is not funny.
    • I only really use Facebook to find out about local events and keep up with friends who don't use Twitter. I don't hate Facebook, but if I didn't use it for the purposes that I do, I would probably delete it.
    • Big beards are gross.
    • I don't understand how people can eat cold pizza.
    • I like body hair, and don't find it gross or unsanitary.
    • People who hate anything mainstream just because it's mainstream are really lame.
    • I don't like "real" milk, unless it is chocolate milk; I love soy and almond and rice milk.
    • I hate the XD face or when people say lol all the time in text or w/e
    • As an American, soccer is awesome. I like basketball because my hometown (Houston) has a good team.
    • I have no real desire to live in NYC or California.
    • I hate Magnolia Cafe in Austin. It smells weird.
    • Grammar is class warfare.
    • Weddings are cool, I guess, but people do the stupidest cutesy shit for them and it's gross.
      • Why does everyone want to get married in a barn?
      • imo, the majority of wedding expenses are pointless. Wedding guests should not have to pay for any part of a wedding whatsoever.
      • Yuppies who want to throw a party for EVERYTHING. Baby gender reveal party? I'm vomiting.
    • I don't like diamonds. Or really "nice", expensive jewelry either.
    • Shitting on the millennial generation and teenage girls is boring and tired.
    • I like ranch dressing and gravy. (Not together tho)
    • Reddit is not all bad. Every web site has its scary, dark corners, and Reddit has had some issues in the past, but to say that is all bad and that anyone who uses the site is an "enabler" is silly.
    • Tumblr is not the best place on the internet. The site actually has a large Neo Nazi presence (and a ton of pedophiles too) and I feel like unless you're really into social justice or fandom stuff, Tumblr is not as resourceful as it could be.
    • John Lennon was an asshole.
      • So was Andy Warhol.
      • Not only do I not like Picasso, he was a jerk too.
    • I am so annoyed with every youtube star ever.
    • It bugs me that Zooey Deschanel sings in every movie that she's in.
      • That being said, she is not a bad actress / musician.
    • I am not a huge RDJ fan.
    • I really do not like Amy Schumer.
    • Not a Jennifer Lawrence fan.
    • Ian Mackaye is super cool, but I really hate some of his fans. A lot of his straight-edge fans misinterpret his entire ideology and they only seem to concentrate on Minor Threat-era Ian. Anyone who has kept track of his career knows that he has NEVER considered himself straight edge and that he generally is wary of movements. A lot of his fans have also misinterpreted his ideas of sex as a conquest (aka he doesn't believe in the predatory actions of men when it comes to sex and that women are not to be "conquered" or "slayed", which is a feminist ideal) and have turned it into super misogynist shaming of women.
    • Saying that ALL Middle Eastern culture is misogynist and homophobic because of the influence of Islam is Islamophobic. Stop talking about things you know nothing about.
    • People who claim that LGBT+ people only do it for attention are the absolute worst.
      • Straight people's opinions on LGBT issues are irrelevant.
    • The majority of mens' opinions regarding lady stuff are irrelevant.
    • Black history month, feminism, affirmative action, and gay pride parades exist for a reason, and that's because rich white cishet males have repeatedly shit on oppressed people.
    • Malcolm X is not a bad guy. I hate that he is painted as some anti-hero of the civil rights movement.
    • I don't think the Pledge of Allegiance should be recited in schools. I don't think that making kids recite something that, when they are introduced to it, doesn't have any meaning to them, is appropriate.
    • Poor people are not lazy and uneducated. Stop homogenizing people in poverty.
    • I once met someone who claimed that we need to implement an education system similar to Germany's, where only the best go to college. That person failed to realize that wealthy people are privileged in regards to receiving the best education.
    • College isn't a necessity. It's a necessity for some (doctors, lawyers, journalists, teachers, etc.) but I don't think making college the end all be all to success is the answer. Think about it: people who typically drop out of college didn't want to be there in the first place. Stop pressuring people to go to school if they don't want to.
    • It's not a bad book and it had a lot of meaning to me at the time, but The Perks of Being A Wallflower is overrated. It's a good gateway book, but most of its "famous quotes" were quotes from other books.
      • Mary Elizabeth was more interesting than Sam, but that was probably done on purpose. Still can't forgive the writer for the flat characterization of Sam.
      • I felt that Mary Elizabeth was demonized in the book for stupid reasons. I might be taking it personally because I do identify with Mary Elizabeth, but it really bugged me.
    • John Green's obsession with lonely nerd boys and manic pixie dream girls is gross
    • Every Ayn Rand book needs to be burned.
    • J.D. Salinger is a great writer; people just need to look beyond Catcher in the Rye.
    • Ryan Murphy needs to be banned from making TV shows.
    • Sansa is my favorite on Game of Thrones.
    • I usually do not like medieval themed shows, Game of Thrones being the sole exception.
    • Good eyebrows can make someone look a lot better, but I get weirded out by some people's obsession with them. There is a lot more to a look than eyebrows.
      • People who claim to be ~eyebrow experts~ but insist that overly defined arched eyebrows are the only ones that look good are idiots.
    • Contouring can make your face look great and can work on anyone, but I think people often fail to consider different face shapes, so it doesn't always work. Contouring shouldn't be heavy either, unless you are doing a photoshoot.
    • Winged eyeliner and red lipstick look good on most people, but I hate when people claim they are make up experts when this is all they know how to do.
    • Nacho Libre > Napoleon Dynamite, any and every day.
    • I love Donnie Darko, but it's not ~mind blowing~ like everyone claims it is.
    • I'm still a little upset that The King's Speech won Best Film. I should be over it.
    • The live action How The Grinch Stole Christmas and the Cat in the Hat were such painful movies. They inserted a bunch of very obvious adult jokes in them, which is just super awkward.
    • To be fair, I don't know who they should have cast instead, but I hate that Michael Cera was cast as Scott Pilgrim. (99% sure he was only cast so the movie could attract a certain crowd.)
      • Michael Cera was only good in Arrested Development.
    • Any movie with manic pixie dream girls or just tries way too hard to be quirky is automatically on my shitlist.
      • This includes 500 Days of Summer, Elizabethtown, Juno, Garden State, Little Miss Sunshine or any stupid Michael Cera movie.
      • Anyone who tries to say that Eternal Sunshine is a manic pixie movie is WRONG.
      • The term "manic pixie dream girl" is inherently misogynistic, but it does describe a phenomenon in movies that I loathe, so it'll suffice.
    • Watchmen comic > Watchmen movie. That being said, Watchmen is my favorite superhero movie, despite certain grievances with it, and the ending for the movie was better than the ending for the comic.
    • I wish people would give horror movies more credit. Horror movies are important as they reveal things about our society's collective psyche. It's fine if you don't like the genre, but it's not ""useless"".
    • I don't think the Star Wars prequel movies are as bad as everyone makes them out to be.
    • Not sure how people can prefer Muse over Radiohead.
    • No Love Deep Web > The Money Store.
    • I prefer Fugazi over Minor Threat.
    • I love punk music, but fuck punk rock elitists who sit on their butts and preach what is and isn't punk.
    • The Sex Pistols and Social Distortion are boring. There are a lot of boring mainstream punk bands, but those two are the most overrated.
