I had this revelation the other day that I can calculate how much I love a song depending on the amount of awesomeness in the lyrics and the melody added together. The best songs have a high percentage of each, but if a song has a weak melody but extremely strong lyrics it can be a favorite as well.

The best possible song is 200%.

Here's what I've calculated so far.

  • 200%
    • "Plane" - Jason Mraz
    • "The Chain" - Ingrid Michaelson
    • "Wordplay" - Jason Mraz
    • "I Cut Off My Hair" - Regina Spektor
    • "Mamma's Boy" - Elizabeth & The Catapult
    • "MFEO Pt. 2: You Can Breathe" - Jack's Mannequin
    • "Boy With a Coin" - Iron & Wine
    • "All the Rowboats" - Regina Spektor
    • "The Henney Buggy Band" - Sufjan Stevens
