So, whether it was bad luck on a block or an unexpected attack, you've been killed. What happens now?

Well, first of all, you're allowed to participate in RP until the actions go through. I'll notify you in the private channel when actions go through and you are officially dead.

I'm holding you all underneath the honour system to not give hints to anybody that you're dead or participate in RP after you've died. Joking around OOC in the IC chats is fine, but actually IC roleplaying is a no-go.

If even one of you does something like share that they're dead before the body has been discovered or keeps roleplaying after being dead, the OOC memeing privileges get taken away, so please play nice or I cry. There are mechanics in place to make sure you're found relatively quickly (hopefully).

Your stats are the following.

Strength: Measures physical power.

Dexterity: Measures agility.

Constitution: Measures endurance.

Intelligence: Measures reasoning and memory.

Wisdom: Measures perception and insight.

Charisma: Measures personality.

Please Help Oh God Oh Fuck How Do I Do These Stats

Your two options are vastly different. You can use an array of seventy-five points that you can divide among all your stats [with a maximum of 20 in any stat]. You can also use the array of 16, 15, 14, 12, 10, and 8, and put one of each of those numbers into each score.

Day actions and night actions are collected each day. Night actions are for THAT night in real time, while day actions are for the following day. Here are some examples of things you can do in night actions.

  • MC places a coin into the gacha machine at the hotel. [This classifies as a GAMBLE action - you don't have to explicitly say this, yourself.]
  • MC spends some time with XX. [Classifies as an INTERACT action.]
  • While MC is with XX, they decide to snoop around XX's room. [Classifies as an INVESTIGATE, unless you specify that you're looking for something dangerous.]
  • MC leaves XX's room and travels to the kitchen to look around for dangerous items. [This is what would be a DETECT action.]
  • MC is left paranoid, and collects a knife...

There are several different skills that a person can acquire.

Each skill is associated with a different stat. Rolling for a certain skill means rolling a regular d20, and then adding the modifier for the stat it's associated with. For example, if you have a +2 to Intelligence and perform an Investigation check, you're rolling a d20 + 2.

You may select three skills. These three skills will have a +2 bonus to them. So, for example, if Investigation is one of your skills and your Intelligence is already +2, you can get a +4 on all Investigation rolls. Selecting a skill can also soften or get rid of a negative modifier.

One of your three skills will automatically be the skill most associated with your character's talent. If none of the skills match your character's talent, you'll get an unlucky bonus and instead be allowed to pick a fourth skill.

You will have multiple 'inventories' that will be kept track of once the game begins. In the inventory will be listed the following: Presents [which you get from the gacha machines], current coin balance, and Premeditation/Hope Bullets.

Truth Bullets have their own separate area and will be emptied out following every trial.

Hope Bullets are very special. They are clues about the overarching mystery. These will mostly be discovered in the endgame, but can be found throughout the chapters, potentially. The knowledge here can be shared freely with others in either free RP or in DAs/NAs.

You can technically steal from other people by snooping around their rooms and then choosing to steal when given the option, but the other person will probably have an obvious culprit for who stole their coins if you two were alone.

Murder is a felony...and it's a felony you're allowed to readily commit! Once the motive is pushed out, you may message me saying that your character wants to commit murder. Tell me your intended target, and we can work together to figure out the ideal set-up.

You are allowed to commit murder due to a secondary motive instead of the one present in the game. For example, if somebody killed someone your character really liked, of course you could take it out on the killer's closest friend...

You are allowed to work with your classmates! Feel free to talk in DMs about being accomplices with somebody. One or both of you can bring the idea to me, and all three of us can work out a case together. If there's any level of cooperation between two killers or a killer and a victim, a channel for that can be created.

Once you have commit murder, even after t...

There may come a time when your character is in counter position, and you are actually attacked. In this case, you will enter what essentially boils down to a duel with the other person, where you will be rolling strength saving throws against each other.

I'm a regular character or rejected-role traitor, and I just countered an attack... Good! This means you were prepared for an attack. Good prediction skills. If you were attacked by the protagonist or a regular character, this will go down regularly. The GM will inform both parties that a counter has occurred, and that all night actions following the attack and counter have been cancelled for the moment. The person countering will be asked if they would like to perform a lethal, a nonlethal, or a block.

In a lethal, the one countering will have a strength saving throw rolled, as will ...
