- we can ask cultivate knowledge and understanding by asking questions and clarifying what another person is saying. this is a skills not many think worth developing but makes you shine.
- you can love someone without wanting to get too close to them / commit to them in a way that wouldn't preserve the love you have for them.
- their personality really captures the whole brain, while the eye can get hooked on any random piece of beauty on the person.
- too much of a difference between the levels of yearning for each other will likely create resentment in the one who is giving more. never a stable ground for relationships.
- in a committed relationship, love is like heat. if ur hot (passionately sacrificial and giving) most of the time, you are inadvertently making the other person cold. If you are cold, you make the other person hot. It's better to stay warm, toward neither extreme (this is specific to some types of lovers, not a generaly true thing). Fire on fire might exist, who knows.
- sometimes you obsess over some people because your life hasn't yet expanded to a level which renders them a relatively minor character in your life.
