Linnea is from the name of the delicate, soft pink twinflower with bell-shaped blooms. Named in honor of Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus, who is considered the father of modern taxonomy. Linnaeus' name comes from the Swedish word lind meaning "lime tree". His father chose this name for his family in honor of the large lime tree that grew in his village.

It brings to mind picnics in wildflower meadows, linen dresses blowing in the wind, bare feet on soft dirt, and calm lakes. It is nature.
