Don't add clutter to your life.

Saving money

  • if you don't have the money, don't buy it. if you can't afford it, save up for it.

  • Trying to force someone to live a lifestyle isn't going to work. When you stop telling people how to live and start living in alignment with your values, everything will change. Live the exact life you want and live consistently. People around you will notice and will begin to change.
  • the best thing you can do is LIVE your values. When you live in alignment with what you believe in, you can only inspire people and you don't have to tell people to change. They will be inspire by you and want to do that too.

Live with what you LOVE and what you NEED- material items, relationships, hobbies, experiences, etc.

Reject the basic assumptions of civilization especially the importance material possessions.

The things you own end up owning you.

It's only after we've lost everything we're free to do anything

Conscious consumerism

Be aware of how products are made and the impact on other humans, animals, the environment, and yourself.

Minimialize with: 1. space, 2. mind, 3.time

  • Television (limit your exposure to advertising)
  • laundry soap
  • kitchen clutter- only the amount of plates, silverware, glasses, etc. that you NEED

  • * When you know how much God is in love with you, then you can only live your life radiating that love." -St. Teresa of Calcutta

I have tried hard to follow the guidelines of the spiritual life—pray always, work for others, read the Scriptures—and to avoid the many temptations to dissipate myself. I have failed many times but always tried again, even when I was close to despair.

Now I wonder whether I have sufficiently realized that during all this time God has been trying to find me, to know me, and to love me. The question is not “How am I to find God?” but “How am I to le...
