- relax in the bathtub with a bath bomb and/or bubblebath.
- if that's not appealing enough, take a long, super-hot shower. use nice-smelling and moisturising bodywash.
- watch one of your sillier or self-indulgent movies.
- bake cookies.
- eat some while they're warm.
- put on your ipod and take a walk. (ideally in the early morning, with hoodie weather.)
- play zombies, run! if you need to expel some energy.
- light some candles.
- draw, but with coloured pencils or crayons.
- organise or re-organise something. (your computer folders, bookmarks, music files, books, clothes, tumblr, cupboards, etc.)
- drink cold water or juice.
- call up your friends and try to convince them to do something fun and frivolous with you.
- put on makeup/do your nails.
- watch cartoons in bed or on the couch. put on pajamas or take off your pants (where applicable) and pour yourself a bowl of cereal.
- learn how to do something new. identify constellations, knit a scarf. create paper cranes or stars.
- (if you fold enough, maybe you can make a wish.)
- go windowshopping on etsy,
- buy a trinket, if necessary.
- listen to instrumental music and movie soundtracks.
- go outside and take some photos.
- spray air-freshener or put on some perfume.
- look up simple crafts and do-it-yourself projects. maybe even make some.
- find a good poet and read their work.
- jump on your bed (gently, when you can get a bedframe).
- put up fairy lights and turn off all your other ones.
- braid your hair.
- put on npr and do something mundane while listening.
- do something productive. errands you've been putting off, laundry, cleaning (doing the dishes, tidying some of the more messier clutter in your room, scrub the bathtub, vacuuming), make dinner, whatever.
- browse other people's art blogs.
- browse your inspiration folder until it works.
- play a low-action video game, like katamari or pokemon.
- read some whumpy and/or schmoopy fanfiction.
- look through your old doodles.
- take a short drive to the bookstore, get a coffee and browse or sit in the corner with an art book.
- eat fresh fruit, ideally something seasonal that you can't always get at its peak.
- go outside on a feather hunt (or on the search for other interesting trifles).
- read silly articles on the internet.
- re-read one of your favourite books from childhood (calvin&hobbes counts).
- listen to fanmixes.
- take surveys on bzoink.
- browse this site (possibly for inspiration to make your own lists!)
- go windowshopping or actual shopping at thrift or antique stores
- or at specialty boutiques (sally's beauty, bath&body works, victoria's secret, gardner's candies, any of those cheap 'dollar'-named places, uncle eli's, etc.)
- try to set a budget, though! ($10-$20 ideal.)
- take your dog for a walk.
- play dance music; move and sing accordingly.
- on the off chance you're not doing so already, put on some pajamas.
- make microwave s'mores.
- buy stickers specifically for the purpose of putting on things, so you won't feel bad about using them,
- do so.
- or the same, but with googly eyes.
- light candles or incense, turn off the lights, lay out a soft carpet, and do some youtube yoga.
- go about your day in high heels, even if you're at home the whole time.
- go to wal-mart early in the morning or late at night in your pajamas. go through the $5 dvd bins. find one that sounds interesting, buy it and some candy or pop-corn, and watch it as soon as you get home.
- on the rare possibility you feel the need to be around people, go down to the local campus. bring a book, sketchbook, or your laptop.
- talk to your webcam.
- make pancakes.
- find a band you don't know well or at all and listen to their entire discography.
- anonymously leave a nice note to someone on tumblr.
- buy yourself flowers or a succulent.
- a new pillow.
- something frivolous and domestic (such as cake pans, coat hangers, pens, pet treats/toys, instant mixes, spatulas, etc.)
- read tearjerker/heartwarming moments pages on tvtropes. cry until you tire yourself out, and then go to sleep.
- put up your hair. drive in your car with the windows down and sing really, really loudly.
- play the wiki game. learn things along the way.
- play sudoku or minesweeper. (they make you think in numbers, but in easy ways, and might help you subconsciously feel smart.)
- doodle on a stack of post-it notes and leave them in bizarre places around the house.
