  • if an acorn falls when you stand under an oak tree, pick it up, turn around three times and then make your wish; placing the acorn on your windowsill for a further three days increases still the likelihood of your wish being granted.
• birds
  • if you see a flock of birds you didn't know was there suddenly rise and fly over your head, quickly make a wish so the birds can carry it with them.
  • if you hear a bird singing in the rain, make a wish.
  • when you see a red bird, quickly spit three times; if the bird has not disappeared from sight by the third spit, you can make a wish.
  • if two birds fly toward you in unison, quickly make a wish; if you finish your wish before they change direction or pass you, it will come true.
• birthday candles
  • once lit take a deep breathe and hold it in while you make your wish, then blow; if all the candles are extinguished with just one breathe then the birthday celebrant is granted their annual wish.
• books
  • if you drop a book then step on it with one foot and make your wish; however you must remember to pick it up with the hand opposite the foot you used, or your wish will not be granted.
• clouds
  • if there are pink or red streaks in a blue sky, close your eyes and make a wish.
• coins
  • take a coin of any denomination (bigger coins make stronger wishes), and toss it into a body of water; some people put their back to fountains ans such before flipping the coin into it over their shoulder.
  • if you find a coin on the ground facing upward, pick it up and make a wish, keeping that coin with you until your wish comes true.
• dandelions
  • it's very difficult, take a dandelion that has gone to seed, make your wish, and try to blow all the down off it in one breath; if you get it all off in one puff, your wish will come true.
• desserts
  • when you eat a slice of cake or pie, cut off the point before you start eating and save it for last; when you eat the point, make a wish.
  • if a cake or such is held together with toothpicks, you can make a wish upon finding one in your slice of cake.
• dew
  • if you find dew on a morning glory, wet your lips with it and make a wish.
• earrings
  • if you lose an earring, make a wish on the remaining one.
