- call me by your name - andre aciman (i’m not sure if this is ~light~ but all the way through i was thinking “this’d be a good beach read” because it’s set on the italian riviera and it’s a saucy sexy summer romance ayyy)
- the beach - alex garland (again, probably not light but it’s one of those exciting ~holiday~ books that borders on terrifying)
- aristotle and dante discover the secrets of the universe - benjamin alire saenz (no book has ever made me gladder to be alive)
- howl’s moving castle - diana wynne jones (hilarious and lovely and very light and fun and happy-to-be-aliveish)
- the graveyard book - neil gaiman (it doesn’t SOUND light but it’s a super good read and really sweet and easygoing)
- jurassic park - michael crichton (rip-roaring adventure read with bonus DINOSAURS)
- outlander - diana gabaldon (if this was a beach book it’d be an “oh shit i’m burnt to a cinder no i don’t want to swim never interrupt me again” kind of deal)
- fangirl - rainbow rowell (it’s about a girl obsessed with fandom and shipping and it’s AMAZING)
- the coldest girl in coldtown - holly black (super riveting and sexy vampire story that isn’t trite or overdone!!!)
- percy jackson and the olympians - rick riordan (super funny and exciting and wonderful, there’s 5 of them but i read them in a week because they’re so good)
