- Pitch Perfect - 5/5 - this was hilarious and great and fun and yes the first film I saw in 2013 gets a 5/5
- Melinda and Melinda - 3/5 - not exactly high on plot but the actors (Chloë Sevigny in particular) are a joy to watch
- Moonrise Kingdom - 4/5 - wasn't sure what to expect as the film had been so over-hyped but it was in fact lovely and touching and the cinematography was just beautiful
- Manhattan - 4/5 - so beautifully shot and poignant AND funny (Diane Keaton I love you so)
- Les Misérables - 5/5 oh my. beautiful.
- The Iron Lady - 3/5 okay this was quite interesting but I didn't have that much sympathy for the older Margaret and I would have liked to see more about her intentions as a young woman and rise to power... it all seemed quite over-simplified but I guess they didn't have enough screentime?
- The Bourne Identity - 5/5 this was so good! I can't believe I hadn't seen it before?! How is Bond more popular than Bourne whaaaaat ugh what a great film
- The Perks Of Being A Wallflower - 5/5 this was so much better than expected wow
- Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind - 5/5 just. too. much. watch it again.
- Ferris Bueller's Day Off - 3/5 another one I don't think I really 'got'?
- Norwegian Wood - 3/5 this is one of the most beautifully shot films I've ever seen but the narrative didn't really translate very well to the screen in my opinion
- The Royal Tenenbaums - 4/5 I did enjoy this but it felt disjointed? beautifully shot
- Wild Child - 3/5 this was actually quite funny ok however much it made me want to die
- Spirited Away - 5/5 (rewatch) as always a stunning piece of art and storytelling
- Bananas - 4/5 ah this was hilarious and way better than i expected
- Whisper of the Heart - 5/5 (rewatch) OF COURSE i fucking love this movie
- The Big Lebowski - 4/5 this was fucking funny and made no sense
- Napoleon Dynamite - 5/5 omg this is the best
- Rust and Bone - 2/5 what
- Silver Linings Playbook - 5/5 THIS IS SO GOOD AND FUNNY AND TOUCHING AND WAH
