Sometimes, I get hyperfixated on genealogy. I'm definitely no expert, but I do my best to be as accurate as I can. Here are my oldest ancestors I've found, so far, that I can confidently trace.

  • Samuel Davis I (Jan 24, 1610 - April 22, 1667)
    • b. London, England, d. Colony of Virginia
  • William de Irwyn of Wodehouse (c. 1195 - 1205)
    • William de Irwyn (c. 1260 - 1333) is an honorable mention, as he became known as Alexander I, as was the first Laird of Drum.
    • Geni.com, which is not necessarily a trustworthy source, says that his father was "William or Gilbert." Since I don't know which, I'll end it there.
    • The first mention of an Irvine (or variation thereof) in Scotland, that I can find, is a Crinan Eryvine. According to ScotClans, he "married the heiress of Malcolm II. Their son was Duncan who became King Duncon who is murdered at the beginning of Shakespeare's play MacBeth."
