This represents the most pages I have ever read/listened to within a years' time. A lot of duds in here, or things I was only mildly intrigued by throughout. Usually these books would be pruned, but since I had the goal of 100 books, I would persevere unnaturally so.

A year of exploring graphic novels/comics! I loved Sound of Snow Falling, Zettwoch's work, GIANT DAYS, the first few Over the Garden Wall comics (a gift from Renee), and Be Prepared (recommended by Nick).

My favorite audio books were The Hour of Land, A Christmas Carol, all the Harry Potters, and Lab Girl. I observe that audiobooks were very important to my getting through my days early in the year and became less important throughout the year. Nothing replaced them, I just became healthier and did not have to rely on their distractions as much.

I am proud I finished two books 500+ pages (The Innocents Abroad, having haunted me for so long, & The Goldfinch, recommended by Maria). I enjoyed Innocents more than The Goldfinch. I think the lesson here is listening to book recommendations with a grain of salt. I really liked the Beka Coopers books Emily recommended, but not the Night Circus. I really liked The End of Night (completed in 2019) recommended by Mary, but disliked Ready Player One. Caroline and Nick's recommendations were always solid.

My favorite authors of this year are Tamora Pierce, Robin McKinley, Robin Sloan, and JK Rowling. Jim Dale was my favorite voice actor, although I disliked The Night Circus.

My favorite book books were The Hero and the Crown, the Beka Cooper books, Sourdough. Honorable mention to A Confederacy of Dunces.

I want to be more selective about the books I read in 2019: less duds! I know what I like more now. Keep up the variety of books, though. I enjoy that variety.
