- rosella: best cold brew, good study spot
- local coffee: also has a good cold brew (on tap!), it's very floral
- pearl farmer's market: good dog- and people-watching, check out Crepelandia, the Twig, One Lucky Duck (try: the Hot Pink), Sol y Luna Bakery, the Lick (try: Texas Sheet Cake)
- the Luxury: they'll put fried eggs on your fries, the Angry Orchard on tap is so much better than in the bottle, and the Texas IPA is excellent; instead of giving you a number to set on your table, they give you a plastic toy animal (if you tip, you'll reveal the name of the animal)
- the riverwalk is much nicer on the SA Museum of Art end (near the Pearl Brewery)
