"Hell, I'll kill a man in a fair fight... or if I think he's gonna start a fair fight, or if he bothers me, or if there's a woman, or if I'm gettin' paid - mostly only when I'm gettin' paid." - Jayne, Firefly

"I am like a being thrown from another planet on this dark terrestrial ball, an alien, a pilgrim among its possessors." - Thomas Carlyle

travel (current daydreams)
  • If you were a month, you'd be August, all fiery & scorching. Or September, the more reasonable sibling of August.
  • If you were a god(dess), you'd be Minerva.
  • If you were a bird, you'd be a scaly-breasted lorikeet.
  • If you were a day of the week, you'd be Sunday, when people watch TV and have BBQs.
  • If you were a time of day, you'd be the afternoon when the sun is going down but everything is still sluggishly active and it's all just warm enough.
  • If you were a planet, you'd be the Sun, because you're the friggin' star.
  • If you were an animal, you'd be a tiger. Obviously. Or maybe a bull (not a cow, mind you, but a bull--not to suggest that you're all manly or anything).
  • If you were a direction, you'd be down into the earth where your feet are so firmly planted, where you are rooted to your familiarities like a tree takes to the soil it was born in.
  • If you were a piece of furniture, you'd be a coffee table.
  • If you were a liquid, you'd be an orange or strawberry italian soda.
  • If you were a gemstone, you'd be topaz or carnelian.
  • If you were a tree, you'd be a...I'm not sure, let me give that some thought. You'd be like a mequite on steroids, probably.
  • If you were a tool, you'd be a shovel, baby.
  • If you were a flower, you'd be a cactus flower like a saguaro blossom.
  • If you were a kind of weather, you'd be a merciless blue sky. I know you like the rain best, but that's why. Without the rain, you are a parched desert. The monsoons of others complete you like interlocking ecological puzzlepieces.
  • If you were a musical instrument, you'd be a viola?
  • If you were a color, you'd be fiery orange or brazen lilac.
  • If you were an emotion, you'd be wry & jovial cynicism, haha.
  • If you were a fruit, you'd be a jackfruit.
  • If you were a sound, you'd be an explosion or the roar of a cocksure engine.
  • If you were an element, you'd be lightning.
  • If you were a car, you'd be a mustang.
  • If you were a food, you'd be delicious...haha. Wrong! Ok, sorry. You'd be french fries.
  • If you were a material, you'd be polyester in one of its many incarnations? I don't know.
  • If you were a taste, you'd be "good taste." :D
  • If you were a scent, you'd be citrus/fruity.
  • If you were an object, you'd be just another statistic of objectification by the media. But seriously folks, you'd be a beer bottle (full/empty/broken--take your pick--and it's not a commentary, it's how I see it...).
  • If you were a body part, you'd be ribs.
  • If you were a facial expression, you'd be delirious maniacal laughter.
  • If you were a song, you'd be "Friend In Low Places" by Garth Brooks; "Black Magic Woman" or "Oye Como Va" by Santana; or one of a number of Sublime songs.
  • If you were a place, you, too, would be home. But not "my home" so much as the ideological concept of "home"--the hearth and home.
