I am on the hunt for the perfect backpack style bag for everyday carry. I want to be able to carry enough that I'm not walking around with my hands full but I also don't look like I'm going on a long trip. I'm also not really into "sporty" bags that look like you're prepping for a hike.
My Wishlist:
- Under $200 (negotiable)
- 14"+ laptop sleeve (negotiable)
- internal organization / lots of pockets
- to be large enough but not too large — I'm tall-ish for a woman at 5'9.5" / 176.5cm so small bags feel tiny sometimes but I also don't want something that will make shopkeepers nervous when I walk in with it
Current Considerations:
- bellroy Tokyo Totepack — $200
- 20L / approx. 17 x 15 x 4
- 15" laptop sleeve
- nylon & polyester - made from recycled bottles, offcuts, and fishing nets
- bellroy Laneway Totepack — $160
- 18L / approx. 15.5 x 15.5 x 6.5
- 14" laptop sleeve
- built-in key clip - fan of this
- nylon and recycled fishing nets
- JULY Everyday Backpack — $145
- 18L / approx. 11 x 13 x 7
- 16" laptop sleeve
- bucket style opening (didn't know I liked this but I do!)
- 100% cotton with TPU coating
- Quince Italian Leather Convertible Backpack — $150
- approx. 13 x 12 x 5
- 13" laptop sleeve
- leather exterior, cotton twill lining
- Samsonite Mobile Solution Deluxe Backpack — $100
- approx. 16 x 12.5 x 7
- 15.6" laptop sleeve
- plenty of organizational pockets
- Bucket style opening
- nylon with vinyl trim (meh, not a huge fan of the material)
- Samsonite NuRoad Ladies 14.1" Backpack — $190
- approx. 16 x 13 x 7
- 14.1" laptop sleeve
- key fob (possible leash?)
- plenty of organizational pockets
- nylon & polyester
- HOBO Fern Backpack — $330
- approx. 11.5 x 12.5 x 4
- 13" laptop fits - no dedicated sleeve
- one interior pocket
- leather

- BÉIS The Expandable Backpack — $98
- 13.5L to 17L / approx. 15 x 13 x 5-7
- 15" laptop sleeve
- key leash
- many organizational pockets!
- recycled polyester, leather trim
- nylon zipper would be an issue
- dislike the logo on it as well
