Cecilia is the feminine form of the Roman family name Caecilius which is from the Latin caecus meaning "blind".

I have a cousin whose daughter is called Cecilia Rose. I feel a bit guilty having it on my list but I've never met her and she's like 11 so... *shrug* That being said, I had the name on my list prior to her even being born. Plus she lives in NY and any children of ours will be raised in the UK. I feel less guilty now.
