Norrie is from the traditional Scots name of a puffin, tammie norrie. It is likely related to Scots nor meaning “north”, ultimately from Old Norse norðr meaning “north.”

Puffins are my favorite bird. I love that they are at home in every element: living in the sea, nesting on land, and flying. They are also monogamous and seen as good parents. So sweet!

It would make a great name for a child who belongs everywhere and can always find home.
