Taffy is an anglicization of the Welsh form of David, Dafydd. David is from the Hebrew דָּוִד (Dawiḏ), which was derived from דּוֹד (doḏ) meaning "beloved" or possibly "uncle".

I am experimenting with guilty pleasure names and names just completely out of my usual range. This was a random suggestion I received. Let's have some fun! I'll be using it as a girl's name.
