Marian is from the Latin form of Greek Μαρία (Maria), from Hebrew מִרְיָם (Miryam), which was most likely from an Egyptian name root myr meaning "beloved".

This name was used in the English legend Robin Hood for Maid Marian, Robin Hood's love. This is my draw to the name.
