Bram is associated with the Dutch braam meaning "bramble" from the Proto-Germanic brēmô meaning "bramble shrub, blackberry shrub, thorny shrub". The name, however, originally found its way into use as a short form of Abraham, a Hebrew name from אַבְרָהָם (ʾAvraham) meaning "father of many". It is most commonly associated with author of Dracula, Bram Stoker.
I associate the name with brambles, wild hedges, thickets, and walking paths. It is cool autumn mornings when everything is grey in the fog.
