Delphie is the French form of the the Latinized Greek Δελφοί (Delphoi), from δελφύς (delphys) meaning "womb" but it is also related to the word dolphin. This was also the name of the ancient Greek city that was the site of the oracle of Apollo on the slopes of Mount Parnassus.

I prefer it pronounced DEL-fee.
