Hazel is from the Old English word hæsel meaning the tree or light brown.

In British folklore, hazel trees are associated with love and fertility. In Celtic Ogham, hazel trees are associated with Brighid, goddess of wisdom and divine inspiration. It gives me great imagery of autumn and beautiful changing leaves.
