May is from maia, a Greek word meaning "good mother". It is also another name for the hawthorn flower. This is an honoring name for me with a simple sound and a nice meaning.

May was my first name love. It isn't usable as Jay's niece's name is too close but I do adore May.

It came to mind suddenly and then the next song on my playlist was "Lady May" by Tyler Childers. Serendipity.
