Yves' long-awaited debut has finally arrived! let me start by saying that LOONA is very easily my favorite k-pop group of all time. Yves is 1/3 (loona reference not intended) of my bias line within the group so, obviously, when she announced she was going solo, i was incredibly ecstatic and excited since, it seems like, after leaving her former company/hellhole, she has either found her true colors or felt more comfortable publicly sharing them. after the announcement of her joining PAIX PER MIL, a company home to small, indie, hip-hop, and r&b artists, i was even more looking forward to her future solo career. now that it's here, i can't say i'm disappointed with what we got. the EP opens with DIORAMA, a sweet r&b song that reminds me of something The Internet could release within their albums Ego Death or Hive Mind. it's kinda funky and dreamy, almost downtempo. then comes the title trac...

tripleS finally come together with their full lineup to release assemble24 as their official debut, despite modhaus previously confirming ASSEMBLE (2023) as their debut. unfortunately, these girls debut was 100% very rushed and it's evident from how sohyun said she only began working on the track White Soul Sneakers, which she participated in composing and arranging as well as fully writing alone, in april. to me, this reflects in the music. we all know that tripleS title tracks are known for their signature "lalalala" and, though it works, i, personally, am starting to get quite tired of it.. it's the same "lalalala" every release and it feels quite uninspired at this point. still, Girls Never Die, the title track, which is full of "lalalala"'s, is pretty good and a good introduction to the group. moving onto the the bside tracks, a lot of them are forgettable and don't bring anything new...

For it's 13 year anniversary, let me explain why i love this album so much despite it's controversy and the immediate hate many listeners have for it while (wo)mansplaining the story behind it! It’s a little hard for me to word these things but I will try my best.. GET READY 4 AN INFODUMP >:P!!!!!

Goblin is Tyler's first ever studio album, released 2 years after Bastard which was Tyler's first ever full-length project. Goblin is an album full of anger, resentment, and absurdism; Tyler discusses with a therapist (revealed later in the album's story to be one of his internal voices/his conscience) his mental state and how his life is going. I've personally had many struggles with mental health and found that this isn't a topic often touched on well in music. The part of Goblin that I appreciate the most is that Goblin is an album made *by* a deranged person *for*...

ANOTHER 06 ALBUM! released just 10 days before my birth, i saw post-hardcore, and the album cover looked cool so i gave a listen.

i feel sort of like ive uncovered a gem here. Planes Mistaken For Stars is a band that came out of the second wave of emo which was the the mid 90s-early 2000s. they've gone through many labels and members, like many bands of the same nature, and were named one of the "heaviest" bands of the 00s "post-hardcore underground." listening to Mercy, you can really hear the influences of earlier classic rock and heavy metal. the vocals are very gritty in a unique way and the instrumentation is rough yet melodic. it sounds to me like they mixed many genres and took influences from many bands as i don't think i can confidently say they are fully post-hardcore or emo or stoner metal like listed. i am really pleasantly surprised by this li...

in Celebrity Skin, Hole trades in their usual whiskey-gargling and mascara-smearing genre of chaos of for a new, more charming chaos. very much ahead of its time, i would absolutely say that this is a must-hear lp full of lyrics and emotions that most girls can relate to; especially nowadays as more girls recognize the negative effects of consumerism on the concept of girlhood. Celebrity Skin, like Live Through This (1994), presents a pissed-off-at-the-world attitude but recognizes that there's growth to be made and that maturity is seen in the more sleek and polished production that this record offers in comparison to Hole's other works. coupled with this upgraded production, no matter what you think of Courtney Love, it's undeniable how beautiful this album is; the contrast of honest commentary and raspy vocals with clean guitar riffs and excellent drums combining in harmony to create wh...

maybe i'm just not listening to the same album as you guys?

brat is my introduction to the iconic charli xcx. outside of fancy with iggy azalea, unlock it, and, obviously, boom clap, i have never heard any of her works. seeing all my mutuals hyping this album up alongside the rest of the internet and almost every single music critic, i had high expectations for this album to be incredible and absolutely life changing. that's completely my fault but after listening to the project i can't seem to understand the blinding lime green hype. brat is not a bad album by any means, but it felt just stale and boring to me at times. the only way i can seem to put it is that she does cool things then drives them into the ground without ever switching it up; the autotune effect was cool until she did it on every song, the stuttering effect was cool until she did it on every song, t...
