- 1/1- I have the feeling that this is going to be a good year for me. Or at least I hope so.
- 1/5 - How is it that I'm always sick at the beginning of the new year? It's like a tradition at this point
- 1/17 - Why is writing about myself the worst torture I've ever experienced? I feel like such a tool
- 1/22 - ughhhhh I'm so anxious! I keep thinking I made a mistake but there's nothing I can do to fix it.
- 1/25 - There are people in my life that I've never spoken to sober... and I don't know how to feel about that
- 1/26 - Note to self: stop launching into a socialist tirade every time you're drunk
- 2/2 - Hung out with Paul and played super smash bros. It was fun but I sucked sooo bad
- 2/4 - Anyway, the one thing I've learned is you can't trust anyone, even if you're blood-related
- 2/7 - Every once in a while, I have these episodes where I feel super invigorated and I'm suddenly overwhelmed with ideas for creative projects. None of these creative projects ever come to fruition, though, because, immediately after, I'm crushed with the realization that I'm profoundly mediocre and everything I do will inevitably fail.
- 2/8 - Celebrated my birthday early with Paul and had a really nice day. I ate soooo much food, though.
- 2/9 - Practiced free hand drawing today and was surprised that they actually turned out pretty good. I haven't drawn since high school and somehow I'm better than I was back then.
- 2/16 - Had an early birthday dinner with my mom and Etis. The dinner itself was great, but the whole day I just felt so sad and hopeless.
- 2/20- It was my birthday today and, again, I felt so horribly sad. It didn't help that I spent the day at home, completely alone. I bought myself a nice dinner and watched At Eternity's Gate, though, and that helped me feel a little better.
- 3/22 - Fucking finally!
- 4/14 - I'm starting to realize that time really changes people and not always for the better
- 4/16 - After this weekend I'm glad to be getting out of the country. I need a break from everyone and everywhere I know.
- 4/18 - Spent the day in downtown San Jose del Cabo and went to the art walk. They had a bunch of cool crafts and stuff and I regret not buying anything.
- 4/19 - Took the bus to Todos Santos and La Paz. Todos Santos was really pretty, but La Paz was so unbearably hot that I thought I was going to pass out.
- 4/20 - Went snorkeling with whale sharks and it was truly amazing. I can't even put it into words
- 4/21 - Easter went by pretty unceremoniously, except that I ate a donut decorated like a chick.
- 4/22 - Went on a dinner cruise to the arch in Cabo San Lucas. We got super close to the rocks and it was so beautiful, especially at that time of day.
- 4/23 - Every time I get home from a trip I feel so depressed
- 4/25 - Why am I the biggest idiot in the world? Why did I agree to speak to people I already decided to cut out of my life???
- 4/26 - I messed up my plans with Mare and I feel real bummed out about it, but at least I got to have ice cream.
- 5/5 - Went to the BTS concert in LA with Mare and it was amazing. It was the biggest concert I've ever been to
- 5/26 - Travel Day. Despite the 6+ hours I spent on planes, it wasn't terrible. There was a lovely bookstore in the San Francisco airport that I got to browse in during our layover. When we finally got to the hotel, we got drunk on Mai Tais at a bar overlooking the ocean.
- 5/27 - Went to Hilo for the day. Everything was closed for Memorial day, so we ended up going to see Rainbow Falls and, later, traipsed around an underground cave.
- 5/28_ - Drove to Volcanoes National Park. Again, everything was closed, this time because of last years eruption. I still had a good time, though. We hiked a trail in the rain and saw the sulfur banks.
- 5/29 - Went to a coffee farm in Captain Cook and had a coffee tasting. Later, we went to a green sand beach, which was extremely treacherous to get to. We had to ride in the back of a truck (without seat belts) over a bumpy, unpaved path and then climb down a steep cliff to reach it. I had a really good time, despite being in mortal danger on several occasions.
- 5/30 - Not a very interesting day. We went to Waimea and, unsurprisingly there wasn't a lot to it.
- 5/31 - It was quiet day today. We went to check out a cool, hand-painted church from the 1800 and, later, visited a history museum.
- 6/1 - We went to a macadamia nut farm and ate a ton of nuts. Then, in the evening, we took a a dinner cruise to the Captain Cook memorial and saw dolphins.
- 6/2 - We flew back home today. I'm not really happy to be back in the real world, but I am glad to be back in the comfort of my own home.
- 6/11 - I started to plan out my schedule for the fall today. I'm really excited but also so, so nervous. I keep wondering if this was really the best idea.
- 6/25 - I'm a bottomless pit of rage lol
- 7/7 - I feel weird and distant from everything and everyone in my life
- 8/25 - I have no idea what's happening and classes start tomorrow lmao
- 8/30 - Got a job at school and, even though it doesn't pay very well, I'm very excited about it.
- 9/28 - Things are a bit rocky at the moment, but, for the most part, I'm feeling confident in myself and the work I'm producing.
- 10/30 - I got the best compliment I've ever received today.
- 11/5 - Went to a reading at a bar and got drunk with the other students in the program. It was great.
- 11/6 - I don't know if it was because I was hungover, PMSing, or what, but I almost cried during my professor's office hours lol
- 11/8 - Celebrated Paul's birthday. It's so weird thinking that I have a friend who's about to have a kid.
- 11/13 - Paul's baby was born!!!
- 11/16 - Last day of class. Finally had a positive workshop experience lmao
- 12/20 - Drove to Tuscon today. I was asleep for most of it.
- 12/21 - Finally made it to Santa Fe. We got here in the dead of night, though, so there wasn't much to do.
- 12/22 - looked at some open houses and all of them were varying degrees of terrible.
- 12/23 - Went to The House of Eternal Return. It was really cool! I bought a pin!
- 12/24 - Saw some cliff dwellings on the way to Taos. Later we went to a matachines, but had to leave early because it was snowing so hard.
- 12/25 - Woke up and opened presents. Etis got me a game and a comic book which was really sweet of him. Later, we went to watch a Pueblo deer dance. It was really cool and the costuming was super creative
- 12/26 - Visited five different museums for our last day. My favorites were SITE, the New Mexico Museum of Art, and the Museum of International Folk Art
- 12/27 - Drove back to Tuscon. Again, slept most of the day.
- 12/28 - Stopped in Yuma on the way back. Ate pizza and went to another museum.
- 12/31 Spent New Year's Eve doing a mini pub crawl with a friend from school and her girlfriend
