Character driven stories tend to be fan-favorites, and with good reason. I have a tenancy to go for the witty word-play, badass, snarky, unexpectedly awesome characters. I like protagonists, their underrated friends, their kick-ass mentors. I adore the underdogs, the ones who get growth and character development, the ones who prove everyone else wrong. Maybe if I make a list, I can find a better pattern.
- Comics:
- DICK GRAYSON.
- Cassandra Cain is a close second.
- Books:
- HARRY POTTER. Also, Neville Longbottom, Minerva McGonagall, and pretty much everyone else in these books, because DAMN that is a lot of awesome people.
- Edmund Pevensie is my hero. I have stanne...

Hooray for gift cards to bookstores! A list of books that I may, or may not, have read, that I am considering or definitely buying. Have read denoted by bold , have not or have not finished, denoted by italics .
It is not unusual, especially if I can find them used, for me to buy books without having read them; though it is very unusual for me to buy a book without having heard of it before, or having spent the last year or so complaining about how I want to read it but never have time.

- The Fall
- My favorite movie ever, for its topic material, use of stories, fantasy, and Beethoven's 7th symphony. Gorgeous and cinematic scenes, and one of my favorite actors ever. Wonderful blending of depression and joy.
- Pan's Labyrinth
- Fantastic. History and fantasy woven together seamlessly, with effects that are neither cheesy nor overdone. Its gorgeous and real style grounds the movie perfectly.

Because yes, I watch a ton of TV shows without even owning a TV! Most of these I'm not completely caught up on all the time, some of them don't air anymore, and some are off season. Lots of these have a small number of episodes (3 or 7 or 10) per season.
- Fantasy/Sci-Fi: My favorite genre, with a wide spectrum mixed results. Did you hear that? Mixed results. (They're called guilty pleasures, we're allowed them damnit.)
- Doctor Who
- Merlin
- Misfits
- Game of Thrones
- Drama: A broad category, including mystery and period pieces. I am a girl of broad tastes, what can I say.

Places I really, really want to visit, but will never be able to due to their fictional nature. Doesn't stop me from dreaming.
- Hobbiton
- Peaceful and idyllic landscapes, charming little hobbit holes. Good food and long walks. If possible, I would also like to be a hobbit, but I'll settle for a vacation there if that's all I can get.
- Hogwarts
- Obviously I'm too old to be a student, and obviously I don't care at all. Again, I would like to be a witch, but just visiting would be enough for me. Smaller day trips are a must, with possible locations being: Hogsmeade, Diagon Alley, The Ministry of Magic and St Mungos.

- Fortune Teller
- Black Rebel Motorcycle Club , Howl
- Shuffle Your Feet - Another one of my favorites from way back in January. Fantastic album.

A packing list for backpacking or traveling light. Excludes any nice clothes that I do not want ruined, and all make-up or jewelry. This list is difficult, in that I do no like giving up my sense of style and fashion in exchange for "better" traveling. (Only the desire to not ruin my nice clothes pulls me through.)

Pros
- ANOTHER COUNTRY. Hi.
- Visiting new places, experiencing life elsewhere.
- New food!
- Different language, immersion is 100% the best way to learn
Cons
- No friends or family, could be very isolated.
- Different language, meaning no more conversations in English. (Or at least, a significantly fewer amount.)
- Also, less easy access to books. No libraries or bookstores (with things I can read, anyway).
- Getting a job abroad is difficult.

As my nerdy qualities are unparalleled... a list of Asian (predominantly Japanese and Korean) drama series I have watched and/or loved.
- Gokusen (JDrama/2002)
- Yankumi, Shin, ETC. My first JDrama! Still holds up almost ten years later as a really fantastic series.
- Hanazakari no Kimitachi e (JDrama/2007)
- I was introduced to this show through a clip from an early episode of Nakatsu dancing on top of a table singing "I am not a homosexual!" while wearing a pink frilly bra over his shirt, and a matching pair of underwear on his head. That is one, among many other scenes, that cemented Nakatsu (and this show) in my heart.
- Nobuta Wo Produce (JDrama/2005)
