One year since I last updated. Weird. But a recent check on a friend's Listography has me wanting to update my own. So here I am.

A gratitude list:

  • Jasmine and her patience. Lord knows what I'd do if she got fed up with me. I'm so whiny it's a wonder she gets by.
  • Q and closure. Ifs and thens are all good, but this is still an apology and a reminder for the books.
  • Artoo and his comic fanboyness. It's nice to be shown a world outside Batman and the odd Vertigo comic.
  • Books and their existence. They calm me down, they pick me up. Books are my oxygen.
  • My sister and her insanity. She's just as random as I am and I love her for it. It's nice to be stupid every once in a while (although sometimes it ends with a nasty bump to the head -why did I try to bite my ankle again?).
  • Music. My "of the moments" playlist matches my ...

Some awesome things over the last few days that I am thankful for.

  • I got to take a nap. And a nice, long one! I went home early on Thursday coz I didn't have class, so after a nice good lunch I curled up in my duvet and fell asleep to the sound of raindrops. And woke up to them too. Absolutely beautiful.
  • On the topic of lunch, I got to cook again! :D Something else I've missed a lot.
  • I finished my Arch10 (architectural design class) final plate --and I love how it looks. AND AND AND. My teacher said it looked cute, and he liked it. 8D
  • A drive at night with the windows down, after a rainy afternoon. The world is cool and smells nice and the street lights reflected on the road are so pretty.
  • I GOT TO READ SOMETHING IN A LEISURELY MANNER.
  • Sleep tonight. AS LONG AS I LIKE.
  • Five months together with Kia! :D I am happy.

This is basically just a random list of makeup I want. Or rather, makeup BRANDS I want. Haha.

  • All forms of DuWop Lip Venom. Argh, these things are sexiness in little, P800 tubes.
  • Max Factor eyeshadow palettes, especially the new brightly colored ones.
  • L'oreal foundations and powders.
  • MAC lipgloss tubes, eyeshadow palettes, nail lacquer (EEEEE) and eye pencils.
  • Oh, and this GORGEOUS shade of Max Factor silvery-gray eye pencil.
  • Body Shop lip butter in cherry, and lip balm in strawberry.
  • All things Shu Uemura.
  • Face Shop nail polish (in mostly non-matte, since I like how theirs are just subtly glittery).
  • Max Factor liquid eyeliner.
  • Random sapphire blue, emerald green and shimmery silver falsies (just for kicks!)....

I have just remembered the existence of this listography. It's so old and unused, my display pic is still a shot of me working during Parish Involvement in third year high school. (I should mention --I'm now a freshman in college.) Time to revive!

  • As Long As You Love Me by The Backstreet Boys.
    • It makes me snap my fingers and sway to the beat. Haha!
  • Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap.
    • Actually, most of the 500 Days of Summer soundtrack, really.
  • Two Of Us by Aimee Mann And Michael Penn.
    • Along with Sarah MacLachlan's "Blackbird," and Nick Cave's "Here Comes The Sun," all three from the soundtrack of the movie "I Am Sam."

To honor Lynne Truss and her incredibly witty, nonsense book: a gratitude list, even if my earlobes are small.

I am grateful for:

  • Kia, even if she wakes me up so incredibly early in the morning and doesn't make libre me kapag recess.
  • Jasmine and her ever-present self. I will always love my best friend. :)
  • Yani and her patience, understanding, and hope. :)) For some reason, she always seems to hope. Makes me hope too.
  • The existence of good authors like Lynne Truss and Margaret Atwood, who write brilliant books like "Tennyson's Gift" and "The Blind Assassin" respectively.
  • Cold December mornings because they're just so romantic and heartwarming (ironically) and soft.
  • Technology. Especially cell phones and the internet.

Since I'm still a bit hungover from school (every time I click open this laptop I find myself opening Microsoft Word, thinking I still have to edit my paper), I will randomly list the things I will do over this break. I will milk every fucking day for all it is worth, since come January it's back to work, plus there's the results of the CETs to be anxious over. Might as well get what happiness, rest and laziness I can.

  • Catch up on my L Word viewing. I'm one episode away from Season 3, and I want to be at least a quarter through Season 4 by the time the school year comes back. I don't care if I get fat from all my couch potato-ing. Shane is worth it.
  • Write. And not write for school or for the Magni or anything. It's been a while since I've written on a whim, and written well, and written something worth posting....

Yes. I don't actually know if I'll look back at this but it's nice to know I did something that leaned towards productive for a change. (Coz, uhm, lately I've been promising myself to be productive and then failing miserably.)

  • Actually study for the ACET because there is no guarantee that I will end up in UP. I need to pick up on my math. I still don't get conic sections!
  • Actually read MIM because I've just started chapter freakin' two, and my second quarter grade depends a lot on my knowledge of this book!
  • Play around and act girlfriend-y with my best friend just for the heck of it. :)) We've been doing it on and off for a while now, for no reason whatsoever. Except perhaps amusement.
  • Jog a little more because I've been a lazy slob these past few days (or weeks). I need to stay fit! (Or, at least, move every once in a while. Apart from the walking I do at home an...

Things that always make me smile, no matter the situation.

  • Novels. Any decent novel will always make me smile. There are a lot of books I associate memories to, like my attributing Clockwork to laughably sleepless nights caused by the noisy clock in my parents' room. Every time I open one of the books on my shelf, I can't help but remember the circumstances in which I read it. I remember reading books on hammocks by the beach, or on hotel beds at midnight by the light of my cellphone. I remember using receipts and random notes as bookmarks. These memories make me smile.
  • Songs from my childhood like those by the Backstreet Boys and LFO. When I hear them I remember the lazy days of my youth (like I'm so old, haha), the laughter and excitement that only a little kid has. I remember splashing around in the river, or playing dodgeball on the street, or poker games up until 2am. O...

  • I tend to think a lot. No kidding. It usually takes a few tries, snaps and/or yells before I fully realize someone's talking to me because I'm usually wrapped up in whatever's running around in my noggin'. A lot of people say I think too much, and strangely I kind of like it. Though it does make me sound like some uber-nerd. (I'm not. God forbid.)
  • I read a lot. Maybe too much. I remember this one time when I stayed up until 5am because I didn't want to stop reading Minette Walters' The Breaker. I've done it on more than one occasion. I even read when I'm eating.
  • Random facts and fancies amuse me. There was this one time a friend of mine suggested we might all be reincarnations of people from earlier centuries. I found this quite funny.
  • I am very opinionated. This also makes me rather stubborn. I usually have an opinion on most things I encounter, from politics to muddy patches of field.
  • I talk a lot. Loquacious, so to say. It's pretty obvious from this entry, so ...

  • Fix my stuff. I have a LOT of papers to put away, and my closet is an absolute explosion of clothing.

  • Mix and match my wardrobe. I need to be more imaginative with my outfits!

  • FINISH READING THE KAS1 READINGS. Haha, redundancy.
  • study for the Math 11 exam next week!
    • solve practice problems

  • blogging for Socio 10

A list of some of the best books I've read this year. Or, the ones I can remember having read this year. I'm a book fanatic. Not obvious, ain't?

  • The Athenian Murders. It makes you feel like someone's watching you. Totally freaky.
  • The Breaker by Minette Walters. Had me up until about 5am because I couldn't sleep --it was freaking me out that much.
  • Bakit Baliktad Magbasa ng Libro ang Pinoy? by Bob Ong. Utterly hilarious.
  • White Oleander by Janet Fitch. Poetry and brilliance.
  • Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. A bit hard to get through, but worth it.
  • Tennyson's Gift by Lynne Truss. Nonsensical fun.
  • Book Thief by Marc Zusak. I am now in love with Death.
  • Alice in Wonderland, and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carol. Why did I wait so long to read these?!
  • Stargirl, and Love, Stargirl, both by Jerry Spinelli. So pretty. :)
  • Sexy by Joyce Carol Oates. Kinda disturbing, but pretty good.

A list of New Years' Resolutions. Might as well get a head start. Maybe this time I can keep some of them.

  • Be more academically responsible. I do have some remnant of work ethic in this lazy, procrastinating body of mine. Might as well put it to use. Even just slightly (like, say, doing homework AT HOME every so often).
  • Read and write more. I am a person of words, first and foremost.
  • Use the computer less. There is a world outside of Facebook, o internet-addicted self.
  • Learn to play things down. Yes, my life is boring. SO LIVE WITH IT.
  • Learn to take things as they come. One thing I have sadly not learned yet is how NOT to make a big deal out of things. I really just have to go with the flow, shrug things off, just take them.

  • A cute stuffed toy

  • Twilight and most horrible, plot-less books in general. Seriously. Sometimes the book gets so bad that I chuck it across my half of the room.

  • Sitting on my bed, not at my desk. I used to be able to lazily work on my bed, all comfy with mah pillows. Now, I spend most of my time at a drafting board/table.
  • Having enough time for non-major subjects. I've cut my non-majors a total of 5 times (I have 4 non-majors) for work. I've had to sacrifice work in those classes for work in Arki because I can't fail my majors unless I want to be epically delayed. Sucks.

  • Or a cathartic scene where the girl bursts through the doors of somewhere or breaks from something that holds her captive. Secrets will play, too.
  • Basically, I want a scene like the end one in Cruel Intentions when Kathryn steps out of the doors and realize everyone hates her and Annette drives off in that sexy convertible. Except I'll play Secrets instead of Bittersweet Symphony. xD

I can never keep track of what I'm supposed to be reading. I'll be reading one book until I go to bed, and leave it next to my pillow when I fall asleep, but pick up another book when I wake up in the morning and head down to breakfast. Sometimes I just find a book, randomly open it to some part in the middle and start reading, and forget all other things.

Okay, so I just finished watching Cruel Intentions , the end scene of which is one of my favorite movie scenes of all time. xD So I decided to make a list of my favorite movie scenes. This won't be very long because I'm distracted, and so don't really remember many movie scenes. I might update when I remember more.

  • End scene of Cruel Intentions when Kathryn is standing on the steps of the church with everyone glaring at her. I really like that movie, even if it makes me a little...anxious? Guilty? Something. xD It doesn't hurt that Sebastian (Ryan Philippe) is damn hot.
  • End scene of Jawbreaker where everyone's flinging their corsages at Courtney and her makeup is running and Julie takes her picture. I love denouements of movies --they're always so... passionate.
