cons
- its heart surgery that ultimately causes multiple traumas to the heart (burning) and potentially a puncture wound between atria
- potentially awake for 6+ hours during the procedure
- potentially under general anesthesia
- low, but existing potential of irreversible cardiac damage that may result in leaving with a pacemaker
- cost
- my svt has been sporadic, largely a result of mental/emotional stress combined with too much physical exertion (triggered in the work place) and has responded well to adenosine and atenolol intervention
- potential that the procedure may need to be repeated
- if the procedure is successful, still need to address the potential for anti-anxiety medicine
pros
- hopefully stops SVT episodes and the need for anti-arrhythmic medication(s)
- safer to bear children
- never have to worry about the condition being life threatening later in life
- learn more about my own organ
- i have fair health insurance now which would minimize the cost
