- also: the weird and annoying fact that culture as a whole is simultaneously obsessed and repulsed by sex. it's like, you should cultivate your whole appearance and self worth around your sexual desirability, but don't enjoy it or experiment and you should make sure you're ashamed of doing it- oh, and shave everywhere and be young and heterosexual and attractive otherwise the fact that you have sex is like, totally gross and stuff and you should just hide away and mourn the fact that you exist.
- most glossy womens' magazines
- such mixed messages! love yourself, girlfriend: you're perfect just as you are! but look, here's a model who's thin and beautiful and only represents a minimal number of actual women and here's pages of airbrushed ads for cosmetic surgey and diets and make-up and articles about how you should spend your life thinking up schemes as to how to bag yourself a man: forget about self actualisation and meaningful pursuits!
- "real women have curves" - this is just as bad as holding a skinny body type up as the ideal
