- avoid ironing - throw article in drier for 5 min then hang it up
- avoid static - crumple ball of aluminum foil and toss it in drier
- dry clean not necessary for most things, wash with very gentle soap/detergent
- plant based detergents are best
- stains: first spray with vinegar and water, then horse hair brush and bar of laundry soap
- only need 2 tbsp of soap/detergent
- spray bottle of vodka will remove odor from clothing
- lavender sachets will repel moths/bugs
- cold water + scrubbing for blood stains, then launder
- hot water + dish soap + scrubbing for oil stains
- goretex garments - wash with goretex detergent, spray with dwr treatment, low heat dry
