-- about demon lord --

• the concept of the demon lord in this manga is not about "misunderstood", it's the same like frieren. they're the embodiment of evil. there's nothing that can justifies their action, it's just who they are.
• i don't have the most faves demon lord, i love every single of them and how the moral message delivered by them.
  • beelzebub: i like how he's is basically redeemable.. it's very much a raw concept of animal predatory.
  • belphegor: i like how they make sloth the most unmalicious sin (tho it will eat you and your surroundings if it keeps going on)
  • asmodeus: i like how they expand the asmodeus storyline, it's about sexual theme and how she regrets it to hold her 'lust' if some guy just got it easily. it's very cool she tries to find a way to normalize her lust, she thought it's for fixing mr. priest sexual trauma.
  • leviathan: i like how leviathan being envy to the weak because she's born as the strongest being. it's should be the opposite, weak envies strong. which show that, if someone envies something, the root cause of it is because they don't have it yet.
  • lucifer: pride is one of the unmalicious sin too. being confident is not wrong, it's just going to eat you alive if you're too overconfident. understimate or overestimate is going to cause some harm to yourself and others.
  • mammon: idk about him at this point.. its about greed, which is too shallow to expand as a concept and too expandable as a plot at the same time? but thats where it got interesting.
    • what i mean as too expandable as a plot: a lot of sin is caused by greed. lust is caused by greed want to mate, gluttony caused by greed want to eat, envy caused by greed want some self-worth, wrath caused by greed want to be understood, pride is caused by greed want to be the right one, and sloth is caused by the greed want to feel constantly safe. this is maybe the reason why mammon is the starter sin the priest have to fought.
    • what i mean as too shallow as a concept: ..... well, it's... greed. its what makes people do something impulsive. that's it. i'm not sure how you can expand his concept without making it too 'out of topic', he's too general like that. maybe money themed? but THAT'S IT! uuh, think of it's like in taxonomy, because greed is the starter sin; he's like a domain. and the rest of the other sin is the kingdom. there's nothing we can talk about in domain other than it consist about archaea, bacteria, eukarya. but in kingdom, especially eukarya; we can talk a lot about what's animal, what's plants, what's fungi. etc.
  • satan: havent know much about him. but he's sure act like a coward. his entire act is being moved by baba yaga, and even when he appears in the story, he makes appearance in possessing dante. not to mention, he even used imuri to pursue his goal. he should be the original sloth tbh. maybe what leviathan said about him being coward is not totally wrong.
    • bro seems love ragebaiting tho. so there's that.

-- about the character --

• i notice every character that associated with evil (witch & demon) is left-handed
• when they brought up a concept vasilisa as a misandrist, i was so scared it will go south and ppl will cancel this manga because uuh..... hating men is a very controversial topic in feminism movement. many supportive of it because they have so many traumatic experience with men, many also went "???" at it saying "what the hell, isnt that's the same as racism then". but honestly, glad MTEFIL brought this relevant topic as their wrath arc. its sure interesting since it's makes the reader have divided opinion, just like irl
