• Glue
  • white craft glue, for fabric shoes or decoupaged paper
  • rubber cement, for gluing fabric onto a shoe
• Paint
  • water-based acrylic
    • color wash (mix acrylic paint with water)
  • spray paint
• Fabric markers, Sharpies
• Paper
  • colored paper, rice paper, newspaper, wrapping paper, fortune cookies, comics, tissue paper, book pages, sheet music
  • if you want to shape thick paper, soak it in watera few seconds
  • seal with glue

Prep

• sand slick surfaces so things will adhere
  • clean with a damp cloth
• optional: prime with white paint
• canvas requires multiple coats of paint

Inspiration

• video games, museum exhibits, Picasso's blue period, places, people

Paper decoupage

• apply glue to small areas at a time
• apply paper (wet, if it's thick)
• seal paper with thin layer of glue
• trim around edges with craft knife
• multiple layers

• trim, rhinestones, metal leaf gilding, chains, beads, barrettes, toys, ribbon, lace, feathers
