Season 4, episode 4 thoughts.
- John Slattery's directorial debut. Brilliant. And playful.
- What a tease! In the previous episodes, we've been hinted several times of an underlying but very repressed bond between Pete and Peggy.
- Peggy and Pete still both have feelings regarding the baby she--and eventually both they--gave up... and they will always, I think.
- This is also a closure for Pete and Peggy. That they're now starting to heal. Peggy somehow got the rude awakening, the affirmation that they're off to different directions.
- Pete got back to his father-in-law, didn't he? He's so cunning and still has his sociopathic tendencies. Which is brilliant. That shrug when he called him a SOB... amazing. Tom's such a huge asshole. What can he do?
- Bert Cooper hanging out at the lobby looking cute.
- Pete's column should be useful.
- He didn't see Harry.
- He didn't see Lane.
- Banging his head on the wall.
- Peggy going out at night smoking weed and hiding from a police raid like nothing!
- Going out with people she just met. In this case, photo editor of Life.
- Smoking her weed.
- Knowing how to reject her lesbo advances. "I have a boyfriend." "He doesn’t own your vagina." "No, but he’s renting it."
- Sourcing for artists/photogs for her work.
- Hooking up with random writers while hiding at police raids.
- The old couple arguing about pears! Perfect coda.
