Trying not to make it too obvious where I live, but I think there's enough identifying information here.

  • In a park there's a fountain with a statue of a "white man" conquering an "Indian" with his sword.
  • The city was named after its founder, but later on people decided to change its name, and the founder moved on to start another city with his name.
  • A tornado hit the city in 1980. Until then it was believed that a tornado would "hop" over the city because it was in a valley.
  • The city was once a leader in the growth of celery. Now it's a leader in bedding plants.
