- it would increase safety - sex workers could work together in groups and report violence, without fear of police reprisals or being jailed. 
 
    - it would enhance health. sex workers could access services without discrimination. 
 
    - doing so would recognise the ILO-accepted fact that sex workers are legitimate workers, with rights to fight for better conditions and wages. 
 
    - it would free up police time and resources to tackle violent crimes, like rape, trafficking and racist attacks. 
 
    - it would protect immigrant sex workers from being targeted for dawn raids and deportations. 
 
    - it would recognise that sex workers are real human beings with real lives and real responsibilities. sex workers, especially mothers, contribute to the survival of families. 
 
    - it would end criminal records which bar access to other jobs. 
 
    - it would reduce police corruption and enable sex workers to report wrongdoings. 
 
    - it would stop the government profiteering out of fines and confiscation orders. 
 
    - it would help end the hypocritical stigma attached to sex work. 
 
  
  i speak as a sex worker myself - if you care about women's health and safety, you MUST support decriminalisation.
