- How unbelievably cheap petrol is
- I love seeing my girlfriend and taking the piss out of her perky Boston accent - ''can I get a glass of watta?' always leaves me cackling
- Doing stuff with my girlfriend - New York gay bars, Bernie Sanders rallies, roadside diners, sitting in parks and rating guys out of 10 as they walk past... fun!
- The food portions are huge. And actually quite cheap?
- My town is just a few hours drive away from major cities like Philadelphia and New York - good for shopping
- There's a real community spirit in my town, especially at church. Everybody is so friendly and courteous
- American candy is 100% better than British candy - and there's much more variety
- Going to the library on Monday and having great in-depth conversations with the librarian (her mom was Scottish)
- Dinners with Jess's family

- The rent of my apartment... it's so high. Sometimes Jess and I have resorted to sex work to get the last $100
- I don't have healthcare coverage so I'm ridiculously cautious about everything I do, in case I injure myself
- The citizenship process is so complicated
- The weather is very, very unpredictable. It can be scorching one minute and pissing it down the next
- I get paid $7.50 an hour which is really inadequate
- The gun culture scares me - even Jess, who's like a progressive socialist, loves going to shooting ranges with her dad. I feel like I'm the only pro-gun control girl in town!
- White supremacy/class inequality/police violence
