- Correct any glaring typos (a.k.a. all of the sections I wrote using Write or Die)
- Read novel thoroughly.
- Spend time thinking about the story arc and message (maybe) of the book.
- What can be cut out?
- Are there any things that need to be included?

- Rewrite passages that are lacking detail/direction/periods.
- Clarify any inconsistencies in the backstory of characters.
- Decide on a make/model of car for road trip.
- Do people/places need more description?
- Snappier dialogue?
- Make sure that chapters don't all start in the same way.
- Research, etc. to clarify specifics about people/places/roads.
- Consistency of characters... there are a lot, but make sure that the actions/dialogue of each character are things they would actually do/say.
