• Moa = blue, Yui = pink, Suzuka = red if you didn't figure that out.
  • I know many take the "I'll be your bride Papa" line so literally, but it's supposed to be cute and not a serious incestuous way. I guess you can just chalk this one up to cultural differences?
  • "ww" in the original lyrics is slang for "lol". It's not pronounced either so I just dropped it.
  • Not sure if this is portrayed well but the "This is the last time" "Always" is meaning "this is the last time I'll ask you". How I'm sure as a kid we all used the "this'll be the last time, always, promise I swear I'll never ask again" type thing.
  • The "kimeru" in "I've become a devil" can be phrased as "I've chosen to become a devil" but this is a mouthful and I think just simplifying is better.

  • The title is play on "宙 chuu" meaning space, and uses the "sora" sky furigana reading.
  • As the CD doesn't release until 04/23, I am using a Japanese person's transcribed version. It was hard because not knowing which Kanji can change it a little bit.

Some specific lines that I had to make assumptions on the Kanjis include:

  • "In the past you were only searching for your beliefs" itan being = 異端
  • "A secret promised date" naisho = 内所
  • "Yet I have become lonely being in love" samishiku = 寂しく
  • "Our eyes meet time again" tabi = 度

When I get my hands on a copy (or if scans appear before my mail runs) I'll update this piece. If I'm correct though I'll leave as is.

Anyone else getting Sailor Moon (manga ve...

Incredibly small note on RH

  • I capitalized Earth/Nature because I believe it's referring to them in a higher manner. I think it means similar to "Mother Nature". So "don't defy mother nature" etc. But I left as Earth/Nature because I wanted even non-native English speakers to understand. Not sure if Mother Nature makes sense to everyone.
  • "moetsukiru hodo honki ni narenai nara" 燃え尽きる is literally "to burn out" but this was weird. Like you push yourself in gym and you get hot? Like that I'm assuming. But still was weird? So I went with "pushing the limit". cuz usually when you burned out your body you're at your limit anyway. Right?

Medley:

  • Nanchatte: I just wanna say the "watashi demo nareru kashira honmono ni" gives me ...

Some general notes: What is female fox? Yes, okay.

  • In old Japan folklore and such, there was a magical being that could shape shift. It was generally known to "possess" young women. Foxes are pretty much always known as cunning or sly. So it's in my opinion pretty close to calling a woman promiscuous or independent. Also girls get represented by cats a lot, like the term "sex kitten". If you know Kpop you may have heard the word "gumiho" before. I put more of my thoughts on this at the bottom.
  • Several times this song says "kitsune" and "megitsune" differently. I have used the words accordingly when they were differentiated as well.
  • Majority of the Yui/Moa's back vocals aren't translatable words. Wasshoi, Soiya, don't mean anything particular. It's festival cheers and words for Enka music. I lo...

The video:

  • The blu-ray has the really weird "FIM" logo for about 10seconds just after the 1 minute mark. This is a defect of the blu-ray on the production companies fault. Sorry :(
  • The dance shot looking awful. Even on the DVD ISO it's just terrible mastering on the company who did it. The alternative ver's dance is a bit improved but still terrible. So I had to change the resolution if not it was just smashed pixels and awfulness. But it still isn't very good... Here is a screencap from the ISO!!! wtf http://i.imgur.com/Z11KUBb.png
  • The BR did improve the closeups!!

The song:

  • It's a story of having a summer romance as a teenager. Similar how in West had that obsession with "summer camp romances". (lmao https://www.google.com/search?q=summer+c...) Which is why they're sad at the end of ...

Shame the full song wasn't performed as I found it to be the most sensual type MM song in a long time. Especially the parts left out, a few of the lines like "henechoko ne" (Such a novice), "yatterarenai" (Can't wait any longer), "suki ni shite ii yo" (Whatever you like is good) haha ;)

I used tangerine at projecthello's translation but made a few minor cosmetic changes I'll note below.

  • 1. なんてこった/nantekorettai is similar to English use of WTF as an interjection, but I toned to down to PG. Common online word.
  • 2. こりゃいったい/korya ittai is like, "Ya! What the hell?!"
  • 3. I changed "kiba mukanai/You don't show your fangs" to "You don't bare your fangs" because show felt too basic when speaking about a Wolf Boy and the literal mean...

  • The title itself is word play. If you happen to be or were into the Jrock or Visual Kei scene you may already be familiar with a lot of these words.
  • It's a combo of Headbanger and Band Gal. A band girl is a really dedicated fangirl who goes to a lot of shows and dedicates much time/$ to the band she likes. Such as you see in the video with the framed band photos, further implying.
  • 15 gets pronounced like saying "One Five" in English instead of juugo. Not sure if done that way to fit the melody or a dual meaning....
  • ドセン is dosen. It's center stage. Really hardcore fans or fans who really like the vocalist will aim for this spot. Very competitive.
  • 逆ダイ is Gaku-dai. A type of headbang where you like bend from the waist down and come back up. Think something like a ...

Small

  • "kodokeru" 口説ける often gets put as "seduce" but that has such a sexual connotation in english commonly. Seduce basically means getting someone to notice/interest you and "endear" means the same thing so I swapped it.
  • The positive aura line is cool since you can see the dance formation as a circle and the girls simultaneously linking. Just like the lyrics, I thought it was neat.

This song is very literal. Mostly the phrases are to fit the music than create a narrative, so I have tried to expand this. Probably why the UFA translator had such a hard time and why we thought it was weird. But "worldly desires, instinct" really is a line lmao.

  • "Gundan" was most likely left untranslated in UFA version since most people know this word already. Yes, GUNDAM. It means army corps, troops, type meaning. I just put army for simplicity.
  • "shikarareru uchi wa hana to ka iu kedo" (Sakura's line) is so weird. Like I was thinking what does hana do with anything? But it has a old meaning of best/better. ...like Tsunku pls that's so obscure. It's like the 5 or 6th meaning of this word in the dictionary. Not sure if Japan really has a saying like this. The line means like "Being scolded is better than being...
