- be mindful of your gifts and talents.
- everyone has their own stories and background noise which contributes to how they treat you, so take their interpretations of you with a grain of salt.
- if someone makes you the second choice, don't pick them.
- if someone shows you who they are, believe them. and show them the door.
- if someone treats you poorly, don't treat them at all.
- if you don't know how someone contributes to your life, don't keep them around.
- it's important to understand the "why" behind someone's behavior, but you also have to protect yourself from it.
- know your needs for a relationship up front. don't agree to be texting buddies/ fuck buddies if you know you want to build a support system or develop a healthy relationship.
- most of the people you meet now aren't going to matter in a few years.
- the deed matters more than the title. so if someone isn't their title in deed, alter/ end the relationship.
- you always have a choice! it doesn't matter the situation, you always have an option.
