- because i've loved them, i believe they always should have a place in my heart
- depending on what's going on in my life, i believe it says something about me
- fear of moving on and repeating the same pattern with a new person, thus compounding the pain
- i falsely believe it's the best i can get
- i invested a lot in them, sometimes up until the end, than what they had invested in me
- i miss what they represented, the opportunity to get close to someone
- i'm a wonderful person to break up with
- it spawns existential questions - did they even care? how could they move on so quickly?
- missing someone is thought to be noble, as well as putting your life on pause
- nostalgia in missing what the person could've been.
- they had a place in my heart
- they left in a cruel way or ghosted
