Exam (2009)
- 9/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭
- Fascinating from start to finish, extremely compelling, well-developed moments of tension, highly original & thought-provoking, disturbing without being terrifying, extremely satisfying ending
- The setting never changes throughout the movie, yet it never feels boring, predictable, or stale- this is a remarkable feat & makes this an extremely underrated movie
- Amazingly innovative use of a single set
- The conclusion was hopeful rather than cynical/dystopic, which is a rarity among psychological thrillers
The Princess of Rome (2015)
- 9/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭
- One of the most aesthetically breathtaking, ethereal movies I've ever seen; the dream sequences were electrifying
- One of the few animated movies whose visual magic rivals that of a Studio Ghibli film
- Storytelling/pacing was extremely uneven & the ending felt too abrupt, but still captivating all the way through
- Plot might be hard to follow for kids & viewers unfamiliar with the historical & religious context of the film
- A moving, inspiring masterpiece
Knives Out (2019)
- 8/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭✭
- Beginning was a bit slow & took time to hit its stride in terms of pacing
- Interesting characters, but dialogue was slightly awkward/jarring throughout the movie
- Interesting, timely satire of WASP culture, but zero subtlety; the wackiness of the personalities sometimes distracted from the brilliantly crafted storyline
- Extremely aesthetically pleasing & cohesive; aesthetic consistency gave the film a uniquely immersive atmosphere
- Exciting, creative plot twist at the end, but suffered slightly from a weak execution
- Could've been a 10/10 masterpiece with a better script/director & better pacing
Johnny English Reborn (2011)
- 7/10 ✭✭✭✭✭✭✭
- Unexpectedly hilarious, heart-warming, & family-friendly
- Very endearing & interesting characters
- Slightly uneven pacing
- Wholesome & sweet, slightly tropey but still felt refreshing & original
- Rowan Atkinson's comedic timing is amazing & Daniel Kaluuya has mesmerizing screen presence

- WHY do i love this dumb movie so much!?

- A beautiful celebration of chivalry
