  • 2010 | at my local theatre group we made a rather more modern rendition of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. much to my dismay, I did not get the role for Alice despite sharing the same first name and instead was plonked on the role as The Mad Hatter. the outfit I had to wear was excruciatingly hot and painful as it was heavier than one might think, but overall, I had a good time and the show went down well with the audience.
  • 2012 | this play was called Vrij Nederland! (Free Holland!) and was set during the German occupation in 1941. I played the character of Maartje, a Dutch twenty-something who fell in love with one of the Wehrmacht's more youthful and naive troops by the name of Frederik. after several complicated issues with food coupons and energy rations, she became associated and intertwined with an underground resistance movement which shares the name of the play. Maartje's very gentle but still somewhat demanding personality was able to win Frederik over onto 'their side' after a series of dates and he was able to give them details on meetings that top Nazi officials were holding. however, at the end, after a shoot out and unsucessful coup d'état, Maartje and some of her other acquaintances are caught by the authorities and shot for treason and espionage. how grim. but I still thought it was fantastic.
  • 2013 | HMHS. Britannic was probably my least favourite out of the three that I've done. the story was interesting but our director and stage manager was really quite out of his depth. but anyway, this play is about a British hospital ship by the name of Britannic which sunk in 1916 after striking a mine. I played a nurse who evacuated some of the wounded patients onto the boats. aside from three or four lines and the odd shriek, I didn't have to do anything particularly exciting although people with more important roles made it really gripping.

highly unlikely to be continued but we'll see
